Wal-Mart Decision on Data Center Awaited; Local Officials Confident

Wal-Mart says it might be late June or early July before it decides whether to build a $100 million data center in Colorado Springs, but local officials say they’re confident the world’s largest retailer will construct the facility in the city. The company is continuing to research a 24-acre site southeast of InterQuest and Voyager parkways on the Springs’ far north side, where it’s considering construction of a 163,000-square-foot data center, Denver-based Wal-Mart spokesman Josh Phair said this week. That process is expected to take several more weeks, he said, after which Wal-Mart will make a decision on the purchase of the land. Read article:
